Notes on Strange Times

We are well into lockdown now.  Halfway through April and it looks like it will last for quite a while.

For some of us, it’s a time where we have little to do. Others have children to care for and they may be working from home. For people with essential jobs it’s a busier (and scarier) time than ever.

For all of us it’s different to anything else we’ve ever experienced before (unless you are an oil rig diver or similar…) Something that most of us will remember for ever. People will say, ‘Oh, lockdown, that was such a strange time.’ Or whatever.

But it’s hard to make sense of it as we live through it. As we go experience day after day without socialising or going out. Limited contact with our fellow humans, the friends, colleagues and family who we would normally talk to. On-line stuff is okay but it's never the same as face-to-face.

So here’s an idea. Try writing about it. There are some ideas in our Lockdown Activities  to get you started. Make notes on your thoughts and feelings. Something to keep a record and also give it some context. Put together a Lockdown Journal, a creative response to strange times.
