By this I mean it is a perfect time to clear stuff that you have been putting off, like the pesky writing project, for example.
Today is such a day. Surely not, in the English Lake District - rain! Yes, well there's a lot of it around at the moment: dripping from the sky and pooling on the ground. But as said earlier, it's not necessarily a bad thing.
It was Martin Amis who claimed writing was about the application of one's backside to the seat, or similar words. And it is true that those who write, do actually sit down and put the words on paper/laptop. Being a writer is not just a title - you have to do the darned work.
And rainy days are nature's way of saying, 'hey, now is a great day to stay in and get on with that short story/novel/poem/non-fiction piece and if you go out you'll get all wet and feel ropy and regret it so just don't bother.'
Yeah, get writing and look forward to a day on the beach when the sun comes out.
