Now that the nice weather in the Lake District has become the norm (for now) I've actually got back into the idea of going for walks in the countryside.
During the long, long winter that we've (only just) come out of, I kind of got out of the habit of walking for pleasure. It was a brisk stroll into town, in the sleet or whatever, then coffee and home. Just enough to keep the circulation going.
But warm weather and dry evenings have meant that it is actually pleasant being outside. There is some motivation to going for a walk, as opposed to walking to somewhere.
Earlier this week I took the riverside path and was out for several hours. I took photos and a few mental notes of the landscape. Did a little thinking: reflection and general musing on life. The kind of things to inspire ideas and get writing.
We could have months of this - warm days and light evenings. What inspiration that would be!
