Opportunity

Radio Drama North and BBC Writersroon are looking for talented writers.

The Alfred Bradley Bursary Award is currently accepting submissions for dramatic pieces in a variety of formats.

The aim is to find a writer for the Radio 4 afternoon drama slot but the work submitted doesn't have to be for radio. It is just to show the quality of your writing.

Although the BBC often accepts unsolicited material as part of their remit to nurture talent, this is a little different as it comes with the offer of money, £5000,  the chance to have work produced on the radio and a year of mentorship.

The only limitations are that you mustn't have already had a drama produced for the BBC and that you have to live in Northern England. Submission will be accepted up until 9th November.

So, if you are a Northern Writer who hasn't had a drama on the BBC before, then it's time to get writing!
