There's a great writing competition being run by The University of Southampton. They are accepting a range of formats - from flash-fiction to full-length screenplay - right up until May 2020.
The competition organisers want writers to envisage what a future sustainable society might look like, or write something to do with sustainability or green policies, even if it's not explicit to the story.
The aim is to come up with positive ways to creatively communicate environmentally-friendly ways of living rather than envisioning (another) dystopia or post-apocalyptical view of the near-future world.
There are details on the BBC's Opportunities webpage and The University of Southampton's own page. It's free to enter and there are cash prizes of up to £750, as well as opportunities for publication.
So go green and suggest what a more optimistic future might look like.
