Autumn Write

As we drift into autumn, with the darker nights and leaves working through their usual pre-winter shades of red and yellow and brown. As the mornings chill and frosts arrive, it's a good time to focus on our writing.

Summer is a great time of year but there is so much to do outside - especially if it is a decent summer like this one has been, even in the English Lakes - that it is easy to put the writing aside and live in the sunshine.

But summer's now gone and it's a good time to reflect and write. Put down the words and go for walks and use our imaginations as the nights get longer and we're forced indoors.

So that's my plan. I've written very little this summer but from now until Christmas I'm going to write every day - even if it's only a few words.
