As well as sitting down and writing, writers need to live full lives. Go places. Without adventures (big and small) to draw on, what are we going to write about?
We do have to use our imagination but this works so much better when it is grounded in our own experiences. At the heart of all good writing is the human condition. Ups and downs; good and bad. This is true for novels, poems, plays and short stories.
So get out in the sun (while it is here). Go places and meet people. Have some fun and maybe a little sadness. Experience the world.
